Digital imaging technician
For us D.I.T. duties go far beyond data wrangling. We ensure full safety of the material from set to post and make sure that the workflow functions seamlessly saving the production precious time and money. In addition, we can in many ways support and facilitate cinematographers and directors in their creative work on set and make sure their vision carries on to the final product.
DATA MANAGEMENT
The core function of a D.I.T. is to ensure safe and quick transfer of the footage. We are always improving security and speed of transfers to offer our clients the most secure and cost effective solutions.
Editorial
Tell us what software the editor will work in and we'll make the project ready. We'll transcode the media to the appropriate format (with the agreed look), import the media into the project and sync the material.
Monitor Calibrating
Monitor calibration is a must for creative professionals working with video or graphic content. You will achieve higher quality images and reduced production time when your monitors are calibrated.
Quality control
After the footage has been offloaded, we review the material with a colour calibrated monitor and colorimetry/exposure tools to make sure everything is in check. If there is a problem, the production will be notified immediately so that corrective measures can be taken.
First light & Live GradE
We aim to offer cinematographers full control over the look of the material. If a look was agreed during the preproduction, we'll make sure to apply it to the material. If you want to experiment, we have the platform for it. In any case, we'll make sure that the decisions taken will pass through to the post production.
Security
At the end of the day, the integrity of the footage is the most important part of a production. The footage carries everyone's hard work and creativity. We understand this and security is the core of our business. We impose ourselves strict guidelines when it comes to the safety of the material. During the production the material is stored in different locations and it is moved in weather and shockproof cases. One copy is kept in a fireproof and waterproof safe in our offices. We use LTO tapes for long lasting storage.
After the principal photography has ended we'll deliver the material to the required parties, one master and several backup copies, all of them identical.
Dailies
If required, the material will be graded, synced and transcoded into dailies. The dailies will then be loaded on the desired platform (Hard drives, Online system, iPad)
